    Professor Holland is the Director for the Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development (PACE-SD) and a Professor of Climate Change at USP. She was a co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

    Professor Holland was an author of the Second, Third, Fourth and now Fifth Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. She will present the scientific evidence for the changing climate system, background on the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) process, how fossil fuel emissions are driving climate change and how the “Merchants of Doubt” have created an international disinformation campaign to foster the perception of scientific uncertainty about climate change. Professor Holland will present on-going efforts and plans to generate a Pacific Island-centric understanding of climate change.
